On Monday 10th Hart joined in on the world’s biggest coffee morning by hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for people living with cancer.
Jasmine Pattison, who organised the coffee morning, said: ‘We combined Macmillan’s coffee morning with World Mental Health day this year, as we thought it would be a good idea to spread awareness for Mental Health. We had a lot of people bake for us we had in total 24 bakes which is very appreciated and was one of the highest number of bakes we have had. We had everything from fudge, brownies and cookies to cheese slices, Chorizo Rolls, and quiche.
We had £164.60 in donations off people who came to the coffee morning and the company politely doubled the amount donated. So, in total the amount of donations we have is £329.20. To thank people who managed to bake things we had a bake off and had two winners - one for sweet (Kensey won with her fudge) and one for savoury (Kelly won with her chorizo sausage rolls). We also had little games for the morning like Find Colin the Caterpillar and Guess How Many Sprinkles are on Colin. We also had prizes for them winners who were (Sophie and Emily).
We tried to spread awareness of World Mental Health Day on the Coffee Morning as we had posters promoting mental health and how to look after yours and others mental health. It was a nice break from all the work and problems that people may be having at work or in personal life it gave them a chance to switch off and chat to others, what I think helped people.
The coffee morning was a success and it wouldn’t of been without everyone’s contributions and help!’
